FANWOOD, SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- The Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA hosted its annual YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day®, the Y’s national initiative to improve health and well-being for kids and families, on Sunday. 

The event, designed to motivate and teach families how to develop healthy routines, featured a 5K race, inflatables, swimming, arts and crafts, and performances by the Terrill Middle School band.

Drew Burfeindt,14, a freshman who runs on the track team for Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School, won by a large margin with a time of 20:05.
