Fashion Show and Luncheon to Benefit Center for Hope Hospice on October 16

EDISON, NJ -- The Center for Hope Hospice and Palliative Care Auxiliary will host its 19th annual Fashion Show and Luncheon from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Oct. 16, at the Pines Manor (2085 Lincoln Highway, Edison). 

The show is attended by approximately 400 women each year who enjoy a wonderful afternoon of fashions, prizes and lunch. This year music will again be provided by "DJ Rob" Fannicola and the fashions will come from Dress Barn and The Runaway, a mobile Fashion Boutique.  One hundred beautiful baskets will be raffled off and the Grand Raffle this year will include a $3,000 travel voucher, a $1,000 VISA card and a $500 Shop Rite Card.  There will also be a 50/50 drawing and a chance to wine a "Gift Card Apron " worth over $500. Tickets to the event are $65 and can be purchased by contacting Dot Chard at 732-521-5362.

All proceeds from the Fashion Show will directly benefit the Center for Hope Hospice  and Palliative Care Center at 1900 Raritan Road, Scotch Plains. The Center is a non-profit organization which provides services for terminally ill patients and their families regardless of their financial situation. Loving end of life care is given at two in-patient facilities in Scotch Plains and Elizabeth and also in a patient's home. For information, visit:

Cranford Man Dies after Wrong-Way Crash on Route 9

April 10, 2018

WOODBRIDGE, NJ – A Cranford man died after his car collided with another vehicle on Route 9 on Sunday.

Thomas McHugh, 88, was driving north in the southbound fast lane on Route 9, where he crashed head-on into another vehicle. On impact, one of the cars caught fire, according to Sgt. Jim Chessere of the Woodbridge Police Department.
