Funeral Services Set for Caitlin Nelson, 20, of Clark

CLARK, NJ – A funeral mass for 20-year-old Caitlin Nelson has been set for Saturday, April 8 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Helen’s Church, 1600 Rahway Ave., Westfield.

Nelson, who was a junior at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut, died Sunday, just days after choking during an eating contest at a sorority event.

According to Walter Johnson Funeral Home, relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, April 7 from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. at St. Helen's Church.

“Caitlin gave in every aspect of her life, including donating her organs as a final act of giving,” the obituary said.
