CRANFORD’S ANNUAL DUCKY DERBY CANCELLED

HANSON PARK STILL NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT

One of the most beloved events in Cranford, the Annual Duck Race cannot be held this year due to Covid-19. The 10th Annual Duck Race was scheduled for October 11, 2020; however, it was decided by Hanson Park Conservancy Board of Trustees that we postpone until 2021.  We will miss you all so much.

Hanson Park Conservancy, founded in 2004, has been holding the Duck Race since 2010.  The event typically draws a crowd of over 400 people to cheer on the 1,500 numbered rubber ducks as they race over the water falls at Sperry Park.  Prizes (generously donated by merchants) are given out to the first 10 ducks to cross the finish line.  All rubber ducks are collected at the end of the race and reused the following year.

Over the years we have received tremendous support from businesses in town who have sponsored the Duck Race. We have appreciated their generosity and look forward to the future when Cranford businesses bounce back better than ever.

Hanson Park Conservancy has used the proceeds raised from the Duck Race for park maintenance and educational programs. Since park maintenance is ongoing, we need your support now so that we can maintain the standards in the park that residents as well as visitors have noticed, complimented and enjoyed.

Please help us make up for the funds lost with the cancellation of the 2020 Duck Race.  We welcome any donation you can offer.  You may also donate via our official website at www.hansonparkconservancy.com or mail a check to P.O. Box 542 Cranford, NJ 07016.  Please make your check out to Hanson Park Conservancy.  HPC values its membership and even if you have recently renewed, please consider a one-time donation for the continued maintenance.

We are now offering a special gift; for every donation over $50.00 you will receive an 8 x 8 print of “The Big Race” painted by Cranford’s own Susan Knasko.  Framed prints will be available for donations over $100.00.

If you have not yet strolled through this idyllic little park, please visit us at 38 Springfield Avenue.  All are welcome.

Thank you for your support!
