Clark, NJ – Students in Ms. Guarino’s third grade class and Mrs. Mytrowitz’s kindergarten class met to give thanks to each other for being “buddies.” The two classes are part of the Frank K. Hehnly Buddy Class Program, which is designed to connect older and younger students build relationships, as they move through Hehnly School.

The students worked together to create an array of Thanksgiving projects, such as thumbprint turkeys and Thanksgiving cards.

“Our Buddy Program is one of our most successful programs here at Hehnly School,” explained Shirley Bergin, Frank K. Hehnly Principal. “The students not only have fun with their new friends, but they also work on various parts of the curriculum with the older students serving as educational role models for our younger students.”

The two classes will continue to meet as the year continues.
