CLARK, NJ - A group of children from The Frank K. Hehnly School Mentoring LINKS Program recently spent some time at Schieferstein's Farm in Clark. The day was designed around the concept of relationship building.
The students were treated to a guided a tour of the grounds by owners Mr. and Mrs. Schieferstein. The couple demonstrated how apple cider is made. The mentoring group then decorated their own pumpkins and learned the secrets of selecting the season’s most flavorful, ripe fruit from the experts.
“We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to work with Schieferstein’s Farm. The students learned so much through all of the activities,” said Nina Conner, a tacher at Hehnly.
