CLARK, NJ - Frank K. Hehnly School students recently participated in a Recess Relay event to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Students donated $3 or more to participate in the event.
School Nurse Donna Kircher and FKH teacher AnnMarie Estevez partnered with ShopRite of Clark to organize games for the children to play during recess like “Ball of Hope” and “Make a Wish”. Store employees, Hehnly staff and Clark Police Detective Brian Soos helped make the event a huge success.
“Thanks to the students and their families we were able to donate $1700 to St. Jude. Mrs. Kircher and I are so proud that our Hehnly students care so much and are always trying to make a difference to help others,” said Estevez.
The St. Jude's website describes their role as leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
