ROSELLE, NJ-  Before the start of their game Wednesday night against Westfield HS, the Arthur L. Johnson High School Crusaders held their Senior Night ceremony, recognizing the team's seven seniors for their contributions to Crusaders hockey during their high school careers.

Co-captain Jack Lomeli, Matt Boho, Mike Cepparulo, Nick Gallina, Tom Gray, Ty Schafer and Louis Sofianakos were honored.

“It’s been a program for years and to be a part of it is such a great opportunity,” Lomeli said. “I love playing with these guys over here and it’s been a great season so far.”

The team is in the midst of a stellar season. They were undefeated through their first ten games. They put up a tie against Bayonne High School on Wednesday, Dec. 21. Their first loss came at the hands of Governor Livingston High School on Wednesday, Jan. 11. The Crusaders record now stands at 10-3-1.

“It’s been a great feeling because these are kids that I grew up with my whole life,” Schafer said. “It feels good to just play with them every day for the past four years.”

A carpet was set on the ice for the players and families to enter. Each senior was called by name and their families were introduced before having their pictures taken. The players’ visitor jerseys hung along the boards, as did action shots and portraits of each player.
