Johnson Girls Varsity Basketball Defeats Linden 49-33

LINDEN, N.J.- The Arthur L. Johnson High School girls varsity basketball team, looking to get back in the win column, took the victory Saturday morning  against the Linden Tigers in Linden. The final score was 49-33.

The Crusaders led the Tigers 14-8 after the first quarter, and held a 23-16 lead at halftime. Johnson outscored Linden 18-9 in the third quarter, giving them a solid lead to ultimately put the game away.

Sophomore Kristina Palella scored 12 points for Johnson, while sophomore Danni Hartzler added 11 points in the victory. Senior and co-captain Molly Panetta scored ten points for the Crusaders.

For Linden, Noelle Williams led all scorers with 19 points, while Janai Williams added 11 points in the loss for the Tigers.

The Johnson Crusaders (3-4) play on the road at Patrick School in Elizabeth Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.

The Linden Tigers (2-5) play on the road Tuesday at Governor Livingston at 4:00 p.m.
