Johnson Girls Varsity Soccer Season Ends With 2-0 Loss to Rumson in NJSIAA Central Jersey, Group 2 Semifinals

RUMSON, NJ-  The No. 4 ranked Arthur L. Johnson girls varsity soccer team took on the No. 1 ranked Rumson Fair-Haven Bulldogs in the NJSIAA Central Jersey, Group 2 state semifinals, and were defeated by Rumson Monday afternoon on the road. The final score was 2-0.

For Rumson, junior Grace Forsyth and sophomore Sofi Giglio each scored a goal in the victory, while seniors Michela Borneo and Jacqueline Littleson each recorded an assist for the Bulldogs.

Freshmen goaltender Courtney Parton made two saves for Rumson.

For Johnson, junior goaltender Meaghan Gallagher made 11 saves in the loss.

The Johnson Crusaders girls varsity soccer team finishes with a record of 17-5-1 in the 2015 season.

Rumson Fair-Haven High School advances to the NJSIAA Central Jersey, Group 2 state title game Thursday, and will have home-field advantage in this game against No. 3 ranked Holmdel High School.
