CLARK, NJ – The Johnson Crusaders varsity baseball team faced off against Union High School, and dominated in the later innings of the game Tuesday afternoon in Clark. The final score was 12-3.
The Union Farmers would add one run in the top of the first inning. Their lead did not last long, as the Crusaders scored two runs in their half of the inning to take a 2-1 lead.
The Crusaders scored four runs in the bottom of the third inning, and added another five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to put the game out of reach.
At the plate, Johnson junior Mitch Becker went 2-4 and collected 2 RBIs, while seniors Mike Lesniewski and Dan O’Donnell each drove in two runs apiece in the victory.
For Union, Jaled Byon went 3-4 at the plate in the loss.
The Johnson Crusaders (5-3) play their next game at Westfield High School Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m. The Union Farmers (0-8) play their next game at home against Seton Hall Prep High School next Thursday at 4 p.m.
