CLARK, NJ – The Johnson Crusaders varsity softball team continues their impressive start to the 2015 season, with a 10-0 win over the Westfield Blue Devils Thursday morning in Clark.
Sophomore pitcher Gianna Randazza dominated again on the mound today for Johnson, taking a perfect game into the fourth inning, and striking out 16 batters.
At the plate, the Crusaders overwhelmed Westfield by scoring six runs in the first inning.
Randazza recorded a two-run double in that inning, while seniors Stephanie Donah and Lauren Margel each recorded an RBI single.
Johnson junior Stephanie Visconti went 2-3 with an RBI single, and sophomore Shannon Brogan hit an RBI double in the bottom of the sixth inning that made it 10-0 Johnson.
The game was called after that hit due to the ten-run mercy rule.
Westfield’s only base hit came from Shelby Estevez, who hit an infield single up the first base line in the top of the fourth inning.
The Crusaders have allowed just one run in their first three games this season.
