CLARK, NJ - The latest program added to the Clark Recreation fall line-up takes place no where near the municipal building. The Clark Fit Hiking Club is an all-new six-week program introduced by local resident Hetal Sanghvi. According to the Fall Recreation Booklet, the program is a great way for individuals and families to get outside and explore local hiking trails around New Jersey.
Recreation Director Ralph Bernardo said Sunday's first trek was a 2.5 mile hike at Surprise Lake Trail. "Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the wonderful views of the lake and trees," he said.
The hiking trails selected for the program are within a 25-30 minute drive. Hikes take place on Sunday mornings through October 27. Beginners or any experience levels are welcome. Participants are asked to bring a bagged lunch and extra water if needed so the group can enjoy a picnic afterwards.
Those interested in getting out and connecting with other residents and nature can call Bernardo a the Clark Recreation Department at 732-428-8400.
