CLARK, NJ – Personnel once again topped the Clark Board of Education agenda during their regular meeting held on Tuesday night. The board accepted, with regrets, the resignation of Mary Lillis, a teacher in the Clark Preschool.
“In an effort to shorten her commute, [Lillis] has accepted another appointment," Interim Superintendent Edward Grande said. "She was this year's teacher of the year and this is a true loss to us. We wish her the best of luck."
The resignation of David Weiner, an Italian teacher at Arthur L. Johnson High School, was also accepted with regrets.
Erin Reilly, formerly a Valley Road Elementary School teacher, was appointed a district-wide Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant.
Several teachers also received pay increases based on earned educational degrees. For a complete list, refer to the meeting agenda.
It was also announced that R. Paul Vizzuso will join the district as the business administrator/board secretary, replacing interim Mark Kenney, effective in early October.
Board member Tom Lewis recognized district teachers who had achieved perfect attendance during the 2014-2015 school year.
The board also voted to renew its agreement with Geese Police Inc. to continue with environmentally safe Canada goose control at the high school.
