CLARK, NJ – According to school officials, Valley Road School has lots of PRIDE.  The Patience, Respect, Integrity, Determination, and Excellence program which started last year recognizes students and whole classes for commendable behavior.

The program invites staff members to recognize students and classes that go above and beyond what is expected during the school day. School Counselor Sarah Badillo oversees the program.

“When a student is recognized, they receive a slip that goes to their teacher and parent which recognizes their PRIDE,” she said. “They are also entered into a drawing for special rewards. It warms your heart when you see the glow on their faces when they are presented with their PRIDE slip.”

For the month of October, PRIDE students can choose rewards including Slime with Badillo, Coloring a Squishy with staff member Mrs. Schaefer, or Chalking the Walk with Badillo. Whole classrooms also have the ability to enter a different raffle where they too can be rewarded as a whole.
