In her high school career, Gallagher played soccer for all four years, basketball for three years and track and field for two years.

“I am very proud of Meaghan,” Johnson girls varsity soccer head coach Meredith Peitz said. “Not only is she a phenomenal athlete, but she is a confident, young woman. I have known Meg since she was in elementary school and her drive and ambition have always impressed me. This award is well-deserved and she is the perfect recipient to represent Crusader nation.”

Gallagher was the goalie and co-captain for the Crusaders girls varsity soccer team in 2016, leading them to a 16-4-1 record and a trip to the NJSIAA Central, Group 2 Semifinals. She made 107 saves and recorded nine shutouts on the season as the starting goalie of the team.

She is also currently in her third season with the basketball team, playing 11 games this year and currently averaging 4.7 points a game.

“As a four-year starter for our varsity soccer team, Meaghan Gallagher has been one of the primary reasons for the resurgence of JGS [Johnson Girls Soccer],” Gus Kalikas, the Athletic Director of the Clark Public School District, said. “She has been solid in goal for us and has provided leadership to our team throughout the years. She is more than worthy of the NGAWS [National Girls And Women in Sports Day] honor and we are proud of her for all her accomplishments.”
