CLARK, NJ - A car fire in one of the underpasses of the Garden State Parkway at the Clark circle just before noon on Tuesday snarled traffic in the area while emergency personnel responded to the scene.

According to Fire Chief Frank Cerasa there were no injuries to the single occupant in the vehicle.   Eight members of the Clark Fire Department responded to the blaze with two engines.

Once the fire was extinguished, a team from the GPS Authority arrived to perform a safety inspection on the bridge.  The roadway was closed for approximately an hour said Cerasa.
