Oak Ridge Park Walk-a-thon Will Raise Funds for People with Disabilities and At-Risk Youth

CLARK, NJ - Community Access Unlimited (CAU) will be holding its Annual Ira Geller Memorial Walk-a-Thon Saturday, September 17, at Oak Ridge Park in Clark, to raise funds for programs and services that support people with disabilities and at-risk youth.

CAU is a statewide Elizabeth-based nonprofit providing support programs and services to adults with disabilities as well as youth served under the Department of Children and Families (DCF) to enable them to live independently in the community, providing supports in areas including housing, vocational skills and life-skills training, education, advocacy and recreation.

Registration begins at 11:00 a.m., with the walk starting at 12:00 p.m. Lunch will follow at 12:30 p.m. The day also will include games, prizes, activities and music. There also will be other community group tables distributing information about their services. Pre-registration is not required.

CAU welcomes individuals as well as teams from local businesses and community organizations that would like to support the agency and its members. Participants can create individual or team fundraising pages or join an existing team by visiting www.caunj.org, click on Events and then click on the Fundraise as an individual or participate as a team  option.

CAU provides support and gives voice to adults and youth who traditionally have little support and no voice in society.
