CRANFORD, NJ – An elderly woman and her two dogs are dead after a fire early Saturday morning tore through a home on the border of Cranford and Garwood, according to Batallion Chief Andrew Stratton of the Cranford Fire Department.
The name of the victim has not been released.
The home is located on the 400 block of Brookside Place. No one else was inside the home at that time.
The fire began at approximately 5:50 a.m. in the rear of the home and went through the roof, Stratton said.
