WESTFIELD, NJ — Boxcar, a private bus company, just launched service from Westfield and Cranford train stations direct to Midtown and the Upper East Side of Manhattan on May 29. Their luxury buses offer amenities including reserved seating, restrooms, power outlets and free Wi-Fi.
Though it's more expensive than New Jersey Transit, “We think this is a better way to commute,” CEO Joe Colangelo said.
Boxcar partners with local businesses and houses of worship to offer alternative parking solutions for commuters, as well.
“We’re like Airbnb for parking,” Colangelo described it.
Boxcar's buses from our area make stops at 42nd Street and 8th Avenue, 42nd Street and 6th Avenue, 43rd Street and Madison Avenue, 47th Street and Madison Avenue, 52nd Street and Madison Avenue and 57th Street and Madison Avenue.
