Public Invited to Submit Nominees for 21th Annual Union County Women of Excellence Awards

The annual Women of Excellence award recognizes the many different contributions of women to Union County. Members of the public are invited to submit their nominees for the 21st annual Women of Excellence awards program, sponsored by the Union County Commission on the Status of Women and the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders.

“The Women of Excellence award is a wonderful opportunity for Union County residents to honor citizens who have made outstanding contributions to our community,” said Freeholder Chairman Alexander Mirabella. “We are looking for candidates from all walks of life and many different fields of endeavor.”

The Women of Excellence Awards is designed to reflect the great diversity of contributions that women make to civic life in Union County. All women who live, work or perform community service in Union County are eligible to be nominated.

The Commission on the Status of Women will consider nominations for women who are 21 years or older and have distinguished themselves in any of the following categories: Arts and Humanities, Business/Entrepreneurial, Community Service, Education, Government, Law, Law Enforcement, Medicine/Health Care, or Women's Advocacy. 

The Women of Excellence who are selected from the pool of nominees will be honored at a celebratory dinner to be held on March 22, 2013 at Galloping Hill Caterers in Union Township.

To obtain a Women of Excellence Award Nomination Form, contact Madeline Brigantino at 908-527-4144 or mbrigantino@ucnj.org, or visit www.ucnj.org to download the form.  The completed form should be mailed to Jane O’Hara, Union County Commission on the Status of Women, 708 Newark Avenue, Westfield, NJ 07090.

Nominations must be postmarked by December 1, 2012.
