CLARK, NJ – The Clark Township council will formally introduce a revised sign ordinance at its workshop meeting on Monday night.  According to Business Administrator John Laezza, the revised ordinance will define various terms related to signage and establish criteria for the use of temporary signs.  The ordinance will then be sent to the planning board for its review on March 5.

An earlier version of the sign ordinance called for the prohibition of temporary signs in the township.  That ordinance was tabled in the face of strong public opposition.

The council workshop meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Room 30 of the Municipal Building, 430 Westfield Avenue.  The council welcomes public comments at the meeting.  A formal public hearing on the revised ordinance will be scheduled after the planning board takes action.
