SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – Say goodbye to 2017 and welcome in the new year with family and friends at South Plainfield's Southside Clam Bar & Restaurant.

“Overall, 2017 has been a great year for us and it is all thanks to our customers,” said Southside owner Alexis Broehl, a South Plainfield native who opened the New Market Avenue establishment earlier this year. “When we first open I said ‘the best is yet to come’ and we can’t think of a better way to start 2018 than celebrating with our customers.”

Southside will celebrate 2018 with a special New Year’s Eve package that will include open bar from 8 to 10 p.m. along with appetizers, a set dinner menu, and dessert for $100 per person. Tickets must be purchased in advance and special discounts are available for municipal employees as police, fire, and rescue squad members. After 10 p.m., stick around and ring in the New Year at Southside with a cash bar from 10 p.m. until closing as well as a champagne toast at midnight.

“We know how important it is, especially on New Year’s Eve, for people to not be too far from home,” said Broehl. “We hope that residents will want to celebrate right here, in town, with us.”

Southside, which opened earlier this year and is available for private parties of 10 to 75 people, offers a casual, family-friendly atmosphere with a private dining area as well as a private bar fully stocked with top-shelf liquor. The restaurant features brick oven and a raw bar along with an extensive menu of seafood, beef, chicken, pork, and pasta dishes along with appetizers and salads all prepared by Southside’s professional and experienced chefs. A kid’s menu is also available as are desserts and specialty coffees and cocktails.

Southside Clam Bar & Restaurant is located at 118 New Market Avenue, just off of Hamilton Boulevard. Regular hours of operation are Tuesday-Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m., Friday-Saturday from 4 to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m. Reservations are welcome.
