CLARK, NJ – Three Clark juveniles were taken into custody Saturday afternoon after leading Clark police officers on a footchase through an east-side neighborhood, Clark Chief of Police Pedro Matos confirmed.
A resident reported people entering a vacant Ross Street home that is currently for sale, Matos said. When officers arrived, three males fled the house, he said.
“Officer Detore and others gave chase through the backyards,” Matos said. Two of the juveniles were taken into custody in the basement of a home several blocks away, he said. Matos said narcotics were also recovered from them.
“The third juvenile was located and taken into custody by responding units,” Matos said.
Matos said there was no sign of forced entry into the Ross Street house and the juveniles gained access through an unlocked window.
The juveniles were released to their parents, he said.
