Scholarship Applications Being Accepted by the Musical Club of Westfield

Scholarship Applications Available Now for April 1 Deadline

The Musical Club of Westfield, currently celebrating its 100th anniversary year, is pleased to offer college scholarships to qualified applicants. Historically, the scholarships are in the $1,000 to $2,500 range and are renewable for up to four years.

Students must provide evidence of outstanding musical and academic achievement, financial need and a commitment to pursuing a degree in music at an accredited music school, college or university. Students must plan on majoring in Music, Music Performance, Music Education, Musical Theater or Composition.

The scholarships are open to students from Union County, NJ. All members of the Junior Musical Club are eligible to apply regardless of county of residency.

Alternately, students who do not reside in Union County or belong to the Junior Musical club may be nominated by an active member of the Musical Club.

The Scholarship Awards Committee will conduct the auditions on the evening of April 19, 2016 beginning at 8PM at the First Baptist Church of Westfield. Audition requirements are two contrasting pieces from the standard repertoire for instrument or voice. The selections must be performed from memory.
