CLARK, NJ – It was a solid win for the Arthur L. Johnson High School boys varsity basketball team as they hosted Roselle Park at home on Saturday morning. The final score was 69-38.
Ahead by only 4 points after the first quarter, the Crusaders outdistanced the Panthers in the second quarter, outscoring them by 19-8. They kept it going in the third quarter, putting 19 points on the board to Roselle Park’s 6.
Sophomore George Visconti was the top-scorer for Johnson, putting up 25 points including 2 3-pointers and 5 from the line. Senior Mitch Becker contributed 11 in the winn, and senior Sean Kovatch put 10 points on the board.
The decisive win came after a disappointing and hard-fought loss to New Providence in overtime on Thursday.
Next up, the Crusaders host Woodbridge on Sunday at 4 p.m. The Panthers travel to Oratory Prep in Summit on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. start time.
