CLARK, NJ – Just as many adults speculated if spring would ever arrive, youngsters around town wondered the same about opening day of baseball.   It seems both showed up on the same day this year.  Under sunny skies and warm temperatures, the Clark Little League and Girls Softball League kicked off their 2018 seasons with the traditional parade down Westfield Avenue and throwing of the first pitch.

Teams piled in to parent and coaches pickup trucks and cars.  Families walked along side with strollers and wagons in tow escorting their favorite players along the parade route headed to the diamonds in the distance.

The parade route was showered with candy and lollipops as eager players tossed treats from the vehicles in which they rode.

After the parade, each league held an opening day ceremony that included team introductions, the National Anthem and remarks from league officials.
