CLARK, NJ – Clark Mayor Sal Bonaccorso recognized the Arthur L. Johnson High School cheerleaders at Monday evening’s Clark Council Meeting.  The team won the Central Jersey Group 2 State Championship; a first for ALJ. 

“Winning the New Jersey Group 2 State Cheerleading Championship is quite an achievement,” said Bonaccorso.  “I’m sure everyone in town is as proud as we are here.”

Bonaccorso then introduced and congratulated Head Coach Lindsay Barrett.

"I am so proud to stand up here in front of our cheerleading team and … our parents who have supported us every step of the way,” said Barrett.  She also thanked coaches Suzanne Hamilton and Cristina Faro for their help throughout the season.

Barrett then commended her team saying, “We had a very successful season since the first time the girls stepped onto the mat in November.  They always kept their heads up high and always worked together as a team.”

Bonaccorso closed by telling the teams to 'keep up the good work and we will see you back here next year.”
