Two exciting programs are coming to Arthur L. Johnson High School this summer, SAT Bootcamp and the College Essay Writing Summer Institute.

SAT Bootcamp will be offered Monday, August 20 - Friday, August 24 at ALJ. The College Board Summer Test is August 25, and ALJ is offering prep classes geared toward this test.  Be smart! Get your SAT Prep done before school begins!

On Monday 8/20 - Thursday 8/23, from 3:00 pm - 6:15 pm, students will receive 1.5 hours of verbal and 1.5 hours of math instruction with a 15-minute break.  On Friday, 8/24, from 9:00 am - 12:30 pm, students will take a full practice test with a 30-minute answer review. The cost is $150 per/student and checks can be made payable to the Clark Board of Education.  Classes will be conducted by experienced ALJ teachers in familiar school surroundings. The College Essay Writing Summer Institute will be held at ALJ from Monday, August 13 to Friday, August 17 from 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm in the ALJ Computer Lab.  To assist students with the college application essay process, the district is offering a mini-course with an English teacher to incoming seniors. Students will receive meaningful college essay writing support: writing tips, what to avoid in writing the essay, critique and revision assistance.  A highly qualified teacher will help students brainstorm to find “their story” so that they are able to write an essay that will stand out.  Class size will be limited to 10 to 15 students so as to optimize individualized attention. The cost is $50/student, and checks can be made payable to the Clark Board of Education.  To register, contact Yuri Diaz at (732) 574-9600 x3254 or by June 30th
