The College Essay Writing Summer Institute will be held at ALJ from Monday, August 13 to Friday, August 17 from 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm in the ALJ Computer Lab. To assist students with the college application essay process, the district is offering a mini-course with an English teacher to incoming seniors. Students will receive meaningful college essay writing support: writing tips, what to avoid in writing the essay, critique and revision assistance. A highly qualified teacher will help students brainstorm to find “their story” so that they are able to write an essay that will stand out. Class size will be limited to 10 to 15 students so as to optimize individualized attention. The cost is $50/student, and checks can be made payable to the Clark Board of Education. To register, contact Yuri Diaz at (732) 574-9600 x3254 or firstname.lastname@example.org by June 30th.
