NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - TAPinto.net, the network of more than 35 all-online local newspaper franchises, had more than 546,397 absolute unique users read the site between July 1 and July 31, 2015, shattering its former record of 474,963 absolute unique users in June.

July 2015 saw significant growth over July 2014, with a 60 percent increase in absolute unique readers from 340,952 to 546,397 and a 74 percent increase in page views from 746,700 to 1,299,361.

"Our online local newspaper franchising model is working — by having locally owned and operated online newspapers reporting on original local news in their towns, we are on the ground in each town breaking the news and quickly becoming the go-to place for residents to tap into their town," Michael Shapiro, CEO and Publisher of TAPinto.net said. "In July alone, our franchisee/publishers were first to report the shooting of unarmed teens by an off-duty trooper in Sparta, New Jersey, which became national news, broke the story of a murder and attempted suicide by a long-time South Plainfield businessman and covered the untimely death of rapper Hussein Fatal from Montclair.  People want to know what is happening in their town and they can tap into all of the news and information relevant to them in their town at TAPinto.net."
