CLARK, NJ – The old expression ‘lightning doesn’t strike twice’ doesn’t seem to apply to gas lines in Clark this week.  The Clark FD responded to the site of a second accidental gas line break on Thursday afternoon about 2:00 p.m. at the construction site of the soon-to-be freestanding Dunkin’ on the corner of Central Avenue and Terminal Avenue.

According to Fire Chief Frank Cerasa work crews digging in the future drive-thru lane at the site accidentally struck the building’s gas line.  Clark FD was on site until relieved by Elizabethtown Gas staff. Cerasa said no one was injured and no other businesses lost their gas utilities due to the incident.

The Clark FD responded to a gas line break the day before at a home in Clark.
