CLARK, NJ – Two new Clark police officers were sworn-in during a ceremony held at the start of Tuesday night’s town council meeting.

Officer Mazhar Elwardany and Officer Michael Somma were joined by their families as Mayor Sal Bonaccorso delivered the oaths of office.  A contingent of Clark police officers was on hand to congratulate the new recruits.

Both of the new officers are lateral transfers.  Somma served for five years with the Elizabeth Police Department.  Elwardany was with the Union County Sheriff’s Department for just over two years.
