SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Union Catholic's Sydney McLaughlin is the youngest athlete to compete for the U.S. in track and field at the Olympics since 1972.

Union Catholic will host a viewing party on Monday, August 15, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., when McLaughlin will compete in the women's 400 hurdles. Students, parents, faculty, alumni and friends of Union Catholic are invited. Food, beer, wine and soft drinks will be available for purchase. 

McLaughlin, the Gatorade High School Athlete of the Year, was featured on NBC's Today Show as the Games in Rio began.
