CLARK, NJ – Two second grade classes at Valley Road School spent the afternoon doing “surgery” on their Scholastic News magazines.
After teaching the youngsters about non-fiction text features all week, Mrs. Cahill and Mrs. Petela’s classes hunted through the magazines to find specific features. The students dressed up as surgeons which added another level of fun to the activity.
At the conclusion of the afternoon, the students were extremely proud that they had such an important job!
