CLARK, NJ – Construction of a new driveway, parking area and drop-off zone is well under way at the Valley Road School. Heavy equipment has moved a significant amount of earth to make way for improved traffic conditions in the area when school starts in September.

The project diverts traffic from local residential streets by creating a two-lane entrance off Valley Road to the west of the school building. The new one-way driveway crosses the current blacktop area and opens into a new 46-space parking lot. Traffic will then proceed around behind the school building to a redesigned drop-off zone at the school entrance. The plan is designed to alleviate congestion and unsafe traffic conditions on local roads.

At a recent town council meeting, Mayor Sal Bonaccorso said, “The Valley Road School project is right on track at this time.  That will be another welcome addition to traffic and public safety in Clark.”

The changes will also improve voter access to the polls on Election Day.
