Valley Road students celebrated Intergenerational Day as part of American Education Week.

The day brought visitors to the classrooms of Mrs. Cahill, Mrs. Petela, Ms. Pinto, and Mrs. Koepfler.   Students invited special guests like grandparents, aunts, uncles and others to visit their classroom.

Guests joined the classes to read stories, make crafts, and participate in other activities.  To commemorate the day, visitors also had a picture taken in a frame labeled Building Bridges.

The goal of Intergenerational Day is for students to build connections and learn from those in a different generation.

“This is one of my favorite events of the year because not only are our special guests excited but the look of pure joy on the students’ faces is priceless,” said event organizer and Guidance Counselor Sarah Badillo.
