PARKLAND, FL - Video of Deputy Scot Peterson at Marjory Stoneman Douglas during the tragedy on February 14th has now been released. The video shows Peterson moving quickly away from Building 9 and at times on a golf cart, again moving away from the building.
The Broward Sheriff's Office said, "We welcomed the court's decision to release the video of Deputy Scot Peterson's actions on February 14....The video speaks for itself. His actions were enough to warrant an internal affairs investigation, as requested by Sheriff Scott Israel on Feb. 21. After being suspended without pay, Peterson chose to resign and immediately retired rather than face possible termination."
"In accordance with Florida law, we are prohibited from discussing any other details of the IA investigation until the case has concluded," the Office said.
