CLARK. NJ - The physical doors of Clark's Library are still closed but the staff has been busy providing many opportunities for the community to stay entertained, educated and in touch throughout the pandemic.
The library plans to re-open when the governor eases restrictions. In the meantime, officials said that all items currently checked out from the library will be renewed through the eventual re-opening.
Patrons with questions, can still get assistance from a librarian. Simply call 732-388-5999 and leave a message or email email@example.com and a librarian will respond within a few hours. The library also has a chat function on their website at www.clarklibrary.org.
Librarians are on duty and prepared to answer questions during regular library hours on Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday from 9:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday and Friday from 9:30 a.m.– 5:00 p.m.

Story Shorts with Scout
Every day, Monday-Friday, Scout (the Children's Librarian's cat) listens to a new story and sometimes sticks around long enough for a rhyme, song, or finger play. These are posted on our Facebook Children's Group page orsign up to receive a link to the library's YouTube channel via email by filling out a Google form at this address: https://tinyurl.com/yx3zhh24 . On days with a live storytime session, there is no Story Shorts with Scout.
First Chapter Frenzy
“First Chapter Frenzy.” Every day a librarian reads the first chapter of a new book to spark some interest in that book or author. Patrons can place a hold on the book through the online calendar or email for pickup when we reopen.
Read to Sophie by Appointment
Sophie the therapy dog is available to listen to children practice reading via Zoom! She is available for appointments Monday-Friday from 6 pm-8 pm and weekends from 10 am – 6 pm. Please email ReadToSophie@gmail.com to make an appointment.
Virtual Maker Monday for Kids on Mondays, June 1, June 8, & June 15 at 3 pm elementary age
Librarians will be doing craft or STEM activities with items commonly found around the house via Zoom. Everyone who registers will be emailed a list of the items to be used in advance along with the link to join the meeting. If a patron doesn't have the materials, they are invited to watch and learn for when you can get the materials, plus see library or school friends.
Virtual Book Club for Kids on Wednesday, June 3 at 3 pm elementary age
Join librarians for a virtual meeting of the Kid’s Book Club via Zoom. They will share some of our favorite books! Register for the link to the meeting.
Virtual Quiz: The Office Trivia on Thursday, June 4 at 6:00 pm adult
Are you a fan of The Office show? Join the library staff for The Office Trivia via Zoom. Every participant will get a chance to win a raffle prize. Virtual Preschool Story & Craft on Fridays, June 5, June 12, June 19, & June 26 at 11:00 am

Virtual LEGO Club on Friday, June 5 at 3:00 pm any age
Join the library staff for a Virtual LEGO® Club via Zoom! Bring a creation to talk about and share with friends. There will also be a 10-minute speed build. Participants need to have some legos ready to build with. Theme for the speed build is SPACE.
Virtual Non-Fiction Book Club on Monday, June 8 at 7pm adult

(Virtual Craft) No Sew Pillow Cover with Cricut Vinyl on Tuesday, June 9 at 6:30 pm adult
Join the fun in making a no-sew pillow cover from old T-shirts and will decorate them with a Cricut vinyl. You will need old T-shirts or any fabric and scissors for this project. A variety of Cricut patterns will be shown, for participants to pick one and iron it on later. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to register. Kid’s Netflix Watch Party on Thursday, June 11 at 7:00 pm
Join librarians and watch Space Jam together and online chat! This classic sports comedy film is both live-action and animated and has everything you want in a family film, including Looney Tunes characters and basketball legend Michael Jordan. Plus, there's a sequel planned for July 2021 with LeBron James! *A subscription to Netflix and the Google Chrome extension "Netflix Party" is required for participation. 8 Minute Lego Challenges on Wednesday, June 17 at 2:00 pm elementary
Join via Zoom to express your creativity during a Timed Lego Building Challenge. Kids will get a prompt, such as a "piece of furniture" and then have 8 minutes to build it with Lego. There will be an hour filled with different prompts! Participants must provide their own legos.
Virtual Craft: Vinyl Design on Mugs on Thursday, June 18 at 6:00 pm adult
Cricut Access is the theme of this session. Find a design and learn how to apply it on a mug.
