CLARK, NJ – Do you have a passion for helping the environment? If so, the Clark Environmental Commission wants to hear from you! The Commission, led by Chairperson Marc Hayden, is seeking ideas from the public about how to make Clark a cleaner and healthier town.
The Commission is currently comprised of eight members and two alternates, but Hayden welcomes ideas from the public as well. Hayden encourages “anybody that has any ideas about what they want to do to make Clark cleaner or what could work better” to attend the Commission’s public meetings, which are held on the third Thursday of every month at the Rec Center at 7pm.
Currently, the Commission is focused on preparations for the Reservoir Cleanup, scheduled for October 13. As TAPinto Clark reported last month, those interested in volunteering for the cleanup can do so by contacting Environmental Commission Chairperson Marc Hayden at firstname.lastname@example.org or (908) 510-7334.
Hayden also voiced his support for the county’s Recycling Coach app, which he believes will be helpful for residents. “We just found out through the county that there’s a Recycling Coach app that people can download,” Hayden told TAPinto Clark. “It will alert you when your recyclables are due, when you could put the grass out, when your bulk pickup is, [and] stuff of that nature.”
Aside from what the Commission already has planned, Hayden is looking forward to hearing new ideas from the community. “We’re trying to brainstorm and come up with some other ideas [of] what we can do,” said Hayden, who has been involved with the Commission for four years and became Chairperson in January 2018. “We’d like anybody to come [to our meetings], especially if they have ideas and want to get involved.”
