Work Continues at Site of Thursday's Water Main Break

CLARK, NJ - Last night’s water main break on Madison Hill Road across from Esposito Park was repaired and the road reopened to traffic.   The break was in a six inch pipe under the roadway.  NJ American Water delivered bottled water to the customers affected by the break.   There were no water restrictions in place for any Clark residents as a result of the incident.

According to Richard Barnes, the External Affairs Manager for NJAW, yesterday’s break “is a different line than the main that broke last Thursday.”  He continued in his comments to say that at this time he has “no information that last week's break is connected to this current main break. It’s too early to tell.”

Work continues today at the site of last Thursday’s water main break by the Madison Hill Road Bridge.   Police are on the scene managing the flow of traffic through the site.   Barnes shared, “Repairs are ongoing to the 36 inch main in the brook and that could take some, at least two weeks. One lane of the bridge will be closed while repairs go on.”
