UNION, N.J. --  Erin McNulty exploded for a game-high 23 points and Madison Johnson scored 14 points to lead the Union Catholic girls basketball team to a 51-38 victory over Union on Friday afternoon.

McNulty, a sophomore, was on fire from long range, hitting four three-pointers in the game for the Vikings, who improved to 9-9 on the season. Johnson scored all 14 of her points on seven field goals.

Union Catholic broke open the game in the second and third quarters.

With the score tied at 10-10 after the first period, Union Catholic outscored Union 15-8 in the second quarter, and 8-1 in the third quarter to open a 33-19 lead.

Union Catholic will be back in action this Monday when the Vikings host Plainfield at 4 p.m. on Senior Day.
