Next Level Business Planning

Upcoming Workshop Targets Slow-Growth Businesses
Business owners learn how to go from surviving to thriving in six weeks

This program being offered by UCEDC, a nonprofit economic development corporation that is dedicated to helping New Jersey’s small business community.

“Getting through the first couple of years of small business ownership is quite an accomplishment,” says Erich Peter, UCEDC director of training.  “But too many businesses get trapped in an under-performing rut because they don’t adjust their goals and strategies.”

The workshop uses case studies and interactive exercises to help participants identify and overcome the roadblocks in key areas of their businesses.  The steps to spotting new opportunities for growth, building a lean and responsive operational structure, and crafting a practical, real-world business plan are addressed through lively classroom discussion and individualized instructor followup.

Next Level Business Planning is a component of UCEDC’s Entrepreneurial Training Initiative, an ongoing small business training effort, supported by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority.   Sessions for start-ups and established businesses are held throughout the state.

Gathered in the rain at Gumbert Park, where the rink is to be built, about 50 residents on Wednesday grilled local officials on the plans to have Union Sports ...

It is no accident that the first day of fall on the calendar marks National Falls Prevention Awareness Day, sponsored by the National Council on Aging (NCOA).  As our population continues to age, it amazes me to see how many injuries occur from falling.

Many of us are fearful of “breaking a hip” but it goes beyond that.  It has been documented ...
