CLARK, NJ - There are just a couple of days left to file for the2019 Senior Scholarship” for those recent graduates not planning on attending college.

In early May, John Samsel, a local broker and owner of Samsel and Associates Real Estate Services invited Union and Middlesex County high school seniors that were heading to trade school, planning to open a business or to be an entrepreneur to apply for what he called his “not for college scholarship.”

According to Samsel,  society pushes college as the only path for students to make a viable living and for many it leads to a future of heavy debt in jobs that may not pay them enough to have the other things they want in life, like buying a house or car.

Instead Samsel says, parents and educators need to help our students understand the myriad of opportunities out there to make a great living.   Samsel is encouraging students to follow their dreams that don’t involve college by offering the opportunity to apply for this scholarship.

To be eligible, 2019 high school graduates from Union and Middlesex Counties may submit an essay focusing on why they are seeking to attend a trade school or open their own business instead of attending a traditional college.

Essays are due by August 1, 2019. $1K scholarships will be given to one senior in each county.
