CLARK, NJ – There is a small area of the landscape outside of the Clark Recreation Center that just got a little brighter.   Brownie Troop 40483 sprinkled seeds planted some flowers and left a special heart-shaped plaque in place after a recent visit.

According to Recreation Director Ralph Bernardo, the girls will be tending to the garden in the months to come.  He commented on the project too.

“The girls did a beautiful job on the garden,” he said. “It was wonderful of them to do this and I look forward to watching everything bloom in the months to come.”

In preparation for this project the girls learned the life cycle of plants and flowers and then they cleaned and weeded the area. The girls were guided by Troop Leaders Christina Gallo and Elizabeth Pepe who said the funding for the project came from selling Girl Scout cookies.

Gallo said the girls chose to make their garden outside the recreation center to beautify and to give back to a place that gives so much to them.
