CLARK, NJ – Sunday’s Halloween Spooktacular is moving indoors in anticipation of inclement weather according to Clark Recreation Director Ralph Bernardo.  Efforts to change the date for the event were met with obstacles.

“We tried every option to move it to Saturday but preparation of an event like this is planned months in advance and none of the entertainment is available to move it to Saturday,” said Bernardo via the town’s Facebook page.  “With that said the Mayor, Council and myself do not want to disappoint the children so we are going to plan B.  The Halloween Spooktacular – Trunk or Treat will go on as planned…inside the rec center.”

This year’s event is scheduled to have even more activities than year’s before including a corn maze, hatchet throwing, pumpkin carving and a bounce round, all set to be in the back gym. The DJ and volunteers will be set up in the front gym at tables and distribute candy from there instead of their cars this year.

Bernardo is asking all volunteers to be at the recreation center by 11:00 a.m. to set up and be ready when doors open to trick-or-treaters at noon. Volunteers are asked to bring small card tables to set up on.

He also asked residents to use the power of social media to spread the word that the event is still on, just moved indoors.
