CLARK, NJ – Clark’s Mulroy family is seeking support as they mourn the death of John Mulroy, a Clark resident who passed away in September at age 55.
John Mulroy leaves behind four children, twins Ryan and Tylor, 21, Shane, 17, and Dylan, 12. Ryan and Tylor are both ALJ graduates, while Shane currently attends ALJ and Dylan attends Kumpf. John’s sisters, Pattie Gaudio & Anne Marie Mulroy, set up a crowdfunding campaign on the website FreeFunder to raise funds for the children’s expenses.
“We are starting this fundraiser to help take care of the boys both now and for their future,” Gaudio wrote in the fundraiser post. “This includes any expenses they might need at school or in their sports activities. We would also like to be able to set aside money for them to go to college if they choose, since they have no college funds set up.”
“Although we know we can never replace their father, our goal is to help provide the best life we can for his children,” she added. “Our brother lives on through each of them.”
“My brother was a single father,” Anne Marie Mulroy said in an interview with TAPinto Clark. “It was a struggle for my brother, living paycheck to paycheck just to keep food in their mouths and a roof over their heads.”
The children’s mother has not been in their lives for years and has not paid required child support, Anne Marie said.
Both sisters remain committed to caring for the children during this difficult time. The twins are living with Anne Marie, while the two younger boys are living with Gaudio so they can attend school.
“My brother adored his children, and we’re just trying to, as his sisters, take care of his kids,” Anne Marie said. “We love them as our own.”
The campaign’s goal is to raise $25,000. A total of $5,135 has been raised as of this writing. Anyone who wishes to donate to this family can do so on the fundraising website.
