On Friday October 4th, the stands at ALJ were filled with cheering students clad in white from head to toe, to participate in the evening’s theme of “white out.” The crowd was particularly large for two reasons: The team was up against their long-time rival Governor Livingston, and it was Homecoming night.

After a rousing rendition of the National Anthem by the ALJ Marching Band, the teams took the field. ALJ looked confident and had control of the ball most of the first quarter. Within ten minutes, Senior Max Carmino scored the first touchdown, followed by the extra point, bringing the score to 7-0 for ALJ.

Throughout the second quarter the ball changed possession several times, with one player for GL advancing over 20 yards, only to be intercepted by ALJ in the next play.

After the Homecoming celebration and installation of Homecoming Queen Katherine Fitzharris and Homecoming King Patrick Brennan, the game resumed.

Possession once again changed sides several times, until Senior Evan Parenti rushed for 30 yards scoring ALJ's second touchdown, followed by the extra point. There were no additional points scored in the fourth quarter, ending the game at ALJ 14-0 GL.

The next game will be against Abraham Clark High School at ALJ on Friday October 11th at ALJ. It is also the annual “Pink Out” game raising funds for Breast Cancer research.
