CLARK, NJ – Connor Hayden was named the Arthur L. Johnson Crusader of the Month for January 2020. According to administrators, Hayden was chosen as a result of his positive attitude and active participation in school related activities. 

Hayden applied to Montclair State University, Centenary University, William Paterson, Jefferson University and Kean University. Recently, he was accepted and has committed to playing soccer for William Paterson University. 

He plans on majoring in Athletic Training in college. “I’ve always had an interest in the field since I’m always hurt” said Hayden. “and I really caught an interest in the field. I also enjoy helping people.”

 Hayden believes he’s had a positive impact on the soccer team as captain. “I was the leader of the team and got All Conference First Team,” said Hayden proudly, “I played well in the season and helped win games for the team.” 

Hayden is also the president of the TV Club and is an anchor for the Crusader Country shows. He also assists students in class when they need assistance editing videos or filming events. 

Hayden is most proud of the person he has become. “I’ve developed so much as an athlete and a person,” said Hayden, “I always train to become a better athlete and I always try to spread positivity to everyone.”

Hayden credits his positive attitude and motivation for his success at ALJ. “If you want something, you have to motivate yourself to do it and achieve your goals,” explained Hayden. 

In his spare time Hayden enjoys soccer, training and hanging out with his friends and family.

Hayden enjoyed many of his classes at ALJ, but he particularly enjoyed TV Production. “Mr. Scardilli made an impact on me because he taught me everything about film and editing and I love doing it,” Hayden added in closing.
