Clark HS Senior Signs with Cornell University

CLARK, NJ –Arthur L. Johnson High School senior Gennaro Nigro recently signed with Cornell University. Nigro was recruited by the men’s soccer team. While at Cornell, he plans to study Finance and Italian in the fall.

According to school officials, along with maintaining a challenging course load and high achievements in the classroom, Nigro plays soccer at the Players Development Academy in Somerset, New Jersey. He is an active member in the school community as an officer for the Key Club and a member of the Italian Club.  Nigro is also actively involved in the St. Agnes Church Youth Group.

“Gennaro is an outstanding all-around student-athlete. He puts as much effort into his studies as he does into playing soccer. It comes as no surprise to see him signing with an institution as prestigious as Cornell,” said Erica Stasio, school counselor.
