CLARK, NJ - Valley Road School's PTA managed to host their first annual Glow Night before schools had to close due to the pandemic. According to school officials, students and family members were treated to a night full of games, music, dancing, coloring and fun.

PTA member, Kim Baglieri, organized the glow-tastic event.  She, with the help of fellow PTA member Nicole Francavilla and the Arthur L. Johnson Key Club transformed the school gymnasium into a dark-light lit, glowing wonderland according to school personnel.

The night included activities such as hop-scotch, corn hole, cup pong, tic-tac-toe and Jenga, made glow-useful with some glow in the dark tape.  ALJ Key Club members were on hand to distribute glow sticks and bracelets and to create glow-in-the-dark face paintings on all attendees.

Students were asked to wear white and were provided with highlighters to draw on their shirts and those of friends and family.  Shirts were not the only thing kids got to decorate, Francavilla created a black and white mural on one wall of the gym, which was filled with a variety of colors, messages and doodles by the end of the night.

The MC of the night was PTA member Jerry Russo. He kept the tunes going so attendees could dance the night away. According to school officials, the PTA hope to continue this event annually.
